Installing CMI Tools for Civil 3D
In the “Product Downloads” tab of your CAD Masters user account there will be a download button for CMI Tools for Civil 3D. This will download a .zip folder. Unzip the folder and run the .exe file. Running this will install CMI Tools.
Once the ACMI Installer.exe finishes running, it will place the appropriate CMI Tools .bundle folder inside the ApplicationPlugins folder. Then, the next time the user launches Civil 3D and starts any drawing, the CMI Tools tab will automatically be available in the ribbon.
The CMI Tools for Civil 3D Interface
The CMI Tools ribbon consists of panels named:
- Dview Twist
- Point Utilities
- Surface Utilities
- Alignment Utilities
- Profile Utilities
- Style Utilities
- Template Utilities
- Corridor Utilities
The bulk of this document explains the uses of each panel, icon by icon, including example situations that demonstrate when the tools will come in handy, and final summaries regarding the powers of each command.
