Installing CMI Tools for AutoCAD

In the “Product Downloads” tab of your CAD Masters user account there will be a download button for CMI Tools for AutoCAD. This will download a .zip folder. Unzip the folder and run ACMI Installer.exe. Running this will install ACAD CMI Tools.

Once the ACMI Installer.exe finishes running, it will place an ACMI.Bundle folder inside Application Plugins folder.  Then, the next time the user launches AutoCAD and starts any drawing, the ACAD-CMI tab will automatically be available in the ribbon.

The ACAD-CMI Toolset ribbon consists of panels named:

  • Polyline Tools
  • File Tools
  • Annotation Tools
  • Viewport Tools
  • Dview Twist
  • Crosshair Angle Tools

The bulk of this document explains the uses of each panel, icon by icon, including example situations that demonstrate when the tools will come in handy, and final summaries regarding the powers of each command.
