PSLTSCALE (PSLT0 & PSLT1)

PSLTSCALE Notes

  • PSLTSCALE is a system variable (a command in AutoCAD that is assigned a value).
  • PSLTSCALE 1 means that in a viewport, the linetypes are scaled in accordance with paper units.
  • PSLTSCALE 0 means that in a viewport, the linetypes are scaled in accordance with model units.
  • PSLTSCALE 0 is usually used in conjunction with an LTSCALE value that scales linetypes instead.
Examples:
  1.  Jim uses a PSLTSCALE of 1 in all viewports and an LTSCALE of 1 in model.  The linetypes act like annotative objects, having a size defined on paper.
  2. Bill uses a PSLTSCALE of 0 and an LTSCALE of 40.  He chose 40 for the LTSCALE to match his viewport scales.  This means linetypes are scaled up in the model before being scaled down to fit on paper.
  3. Let’s imagine Jim and Bill swap projects.  They may want a way to change PSLTSCALE in all viewports in order to continue the workflow they prefer.  The following commands enable this.

PSLT0 Command

pslt0 command ribbon
  • To run: you may type PSLT0 as a command, or find the button highlighted in yellow above.
  • This command will go through each viewport on each layout and set the PSLTSCALE to 0.

PSLT1 Command

pslt1 command ribbon
  • To run: you may type PSLT1 as a command, or find the button highlighted in yellow above.
  • This command will go through each viewport on each layout and set the PSLTSCALE to 1.
